Is officially the best day of the year if you're a mom. Nancy came down and celebrated the special day with us. Thanks Andy for the yummy breakfast :)
I like having a bubble lawn mower rammed into my shins, don't you? Nancy, you are a great sport and a fantastic Gram.

Just your average Thursday night
Jim comes to Amissville and stays with us on Thursday nights while he is getting his home built. It's sweet to see Mason run into his arms while yelling, "Paw Paw!" This is Mason's new name for Jim, he was supposed to be Grandpa.
Mason's attempt at a smile...
Making sure the blueberries are getting enough water. Sometimes we like to water shoes.
Appreciating a bird song...

Have you seen those National Geographic specials about animals and their babies? Specifically the ones where the baby cubs are climbing all over the sleeping parent, biting ears, pulling fur and doing all sorts of tackling moves?

Time to go in for some dinner, a warm shower and a story. See you tomorrow!

Mommy and Mason Night
Andy had one of his last classes which meant that Mommy and Mason got to spend the evening together. It's fun to sit on the couch with Andy once he gets home to show him all that we got into...
I enjoy some alone time, don't you? (WARNING: You will not get these 56 seconds of your life back. This is NOT an exciting video, just Mason being a one year old in the garden)
And after that awesome alone time Mason managed to find a bucket. The problem for Mommy was that the bucket was most definitely not empty.

Just talking about stuff on our way to the shower.
So fun!

Play date "Whoops!"
At our last play date with the Platts, Max and Mason had a great time at the playground. They became best of friends...
(Pretty sure the background laughter is what keeps me watching this video over and over. Thanks Andy, Sara and LD!)

Can you say, "McIntyre?"
Well, our boy speaks the truth. Tonight Andy was trying to teach Mason to say "McIntyre." It went something like this,
Andy: "Mason, can you say McIntyre? Mac-In-Tire."
Mason: "Daddy tired."
Andy: "Well, yes, that's true but say Mac-In-Tire"
Mason: "Daddy tired."
So as of now our little guy is Mason James Daddy Tired.

Easter Weekend
What a fabulous spring break and Easter weekend. The garden is ready for the veggie babies in May, the porch swing is operational and sunscreen has been applied. We have splashed in cool water, blown hundreds of bubbles and taken a bazillion tractor rides. Spring is pretty much awesome. We headed to Pappy and Mama's house for Easter dinner and had fun hunting eggs, playing badminton and just being together. Grandpa, one of these days I will get you in a picture!

Culinary Delight
Have you ever had Wasabi covered peas? Andy and I LOVE them! They're are a crunchy, hot, addictive treat. When I say hot I mean horsradish-hot. Clear your sinuses hot. Guess who loves them as well? You guessed it...

Snow Daze Delay
Sorry about the hiatus! Here are some pics and videos from the past few weeks. We've had fun playing in the snow, slumber partying with the Gormans and Gram as well as consuming a fair share of snow and gold fish.

Mason not only enjoys a big handful of snow, he also likes to get his tongue in the brown slushy stuff as well as on the cold, dirty gravel. EWW!!! Yuckie!!
Mason and I got VERY excited about the first seed catalog to arrive in the mail.
After being stuck inside for so long, it was only a matter of time til Mason ventured back to his drawers. The pick up just never seems to end...
Dangerous...
Silly...

The danger zone expands...
Dax has been very tolerant of all of the "snatching" (that's Dax's word) and hug giving by Mason. It must be tough to be five and have to put up with a one year old.

Even though the first screen is black, these videos should play.
Mason, Coco Durn, and Andy started a band. They've got a bit more practice ahead of them before the release of their first album. The solo played on the recorder, however, is perfect!
There is always some sort of vigorous play prior to bedtime. Here we have the incredible Flying Baby!
And here we have another culinary delight.

Christmas and New Year's
Was an absolute blast! I'd tell you more but Andy keeps telling me that he needs the computer for a lesson plan so I will have to update tomor....
Andy's dream come true...
Nope, not a new guitar but rather a vampire baby! For those of you who don't already know, Andy is a bit of a Twilight freak. "I'm not a Twilight freak," is what Andy just said after I read what I wrote.
Sometimes I feel like I need to compete with Jacob. *sigh*
The sigh was from Andy...

Passing the time...
With so much snow keeping us inside, our little toddler got curious and creative...
Boy, you try to do one little thing that takes all of twenty seconds and return to this...
I'm still trying to figure out how he got in!

Blizzards and the best treat in the world!
We have had TWO snow storms already and Mason has loved watching and eating the frozen precipitation. As far as playing in it, when you're only a little over two feet tall, twenty inches of snow can be a bit much.
Daddy and Mason having a moment. Ahhh...

Mason helped protect the trees by hitting the snow off of their branches. You could almost hear the trees breathing a sigh of relief, "Thanks, Mason."
And finally, Andy and I stumbled upon the BEST toddler distraction ever, snow-in-a-bowl (or cup, as this video shows).
Mason would actually sit in his high chair for about ten minutes simply enjoying his frozen treat which in return was a huge treat for Mom and Dad.
